The new VISION ONE project by Bülow AG in Leinfelden-Echterdingen points the way to the future of work and mobility. Modern and sustainable office buildings and a hotel have been constructed on the 13.500-square-meter site over the past three years. The accompanying underground parking garage offers 450 parking spaces. The infrastructure for electric mobility is being installed for 50 of these spaces, and 24 are already equipped with Minol Drive – powered by GP JOULE CONNECT.
Leinfelden-Echterdingen is an attractive location for businesses. This is due not only to its excellent connection to the A8 motorway and its immediate proximity to Stuttgart Airport and the Stuttgart Trade Fair Center, but also to the diverse economic landscape, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to global players. For the Stuttgart-based project development company Bülow AG, Leinfelden-Echterdingen was therefore the ideal location for the VISION ONE office complex. "We wanted to create not just new office space, but a modern work and living environment. The complex meets current energy standards, allows for customized office layouts, and invites residents to relax and enjoy themselves with its numerous terraces and green spaces," explains Horst Bülow, CEO of Bülow AG.
VISION ONE comprises three office buildings with approximately 19.000 square meters of rental space, a 125-room hotel, and an underground parking garage with 450 spaces. To accommodate the increasing number of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure for EVs is being installed in two phases. Fifty parking spaces have been equipped with charging infrastructure from Minol Drive – powered by GP JOULE CONNECT.
Competent partners in the field of e-mobility
Bülow AG utilized various components of the modular system. These encompass the entire value chain, from consulting and technical planning to hardware selection and on-site installation of the meter connection column and distribution for a total of 50 AC charging points, as well as operation, service, billing of charging processes, and maintenance of the charging points.
Tobias Flinspach, Sales Manager at Minol, explains the project process: “Every project begins with a personal consultation with an e-mobility expert. During this consultation, Bülow AG discussed their requirements with their partners and defined the specific objectives. This involved topics such as compliance with measurement and calibration regulations, dynamic charging management, billing, the backend, and potential operating models. A needs analysis and advice on available subsidies are also part of the ‘Consulting, Energy and Mobility’ module. The next step involves developing the project concept, including a feasibility study, a timeline, and a cost estimate for implementation.”
The experts from Minol and GP JOULE CONNECT also coordinate with the grid operator and manage all participating service providers. Following extensive detailed planning, implementation begins: Minol Drive supplies the necessary hardware, installs it, and commissions it. In the case of VISION ONE, this is the Ebee AC charging station in Berlin with a capacity of 22 kilowatts. Electric vehicles can be charged in approximately two hours. GP JOULE CONNECT also supplies the renewable energy for charging and serves as the point of contact for all users.
Bülow AG is very satisfied with the entire process, from initial contact to commissioning of the charging infrastructure by Minol and GP JOULE CONNECT: “We considered several service providers. However, we quickly decided on Minol Drive. We felt well-advised from the start and received prompt and competent support with all our questions.
