When ordering a consumption-based energy performance certificate online, you should consider the following points:

• Several buildings connected to one heating system:
  For buildings with multiple entrances (house numbers), we will individually assess whether issuing only one energy performance certificate is permissible. If necessary, you will be asked to submit further documents (e.g., building plans/floor plans of all floors) after we receive your order. You will be informed about the next steps.

• Difference Natural gas L and H:
  In Germany, natural gas will continue to flow in two qualities until autumn 2029: L-gas ("low calorific gas") with a low methane content and therefore a lower calorific value (energy content), and H-gas ("high calorific gas") with a high calorific value (energy content). When we specify natural gas consumption in kWh/MWh, we assume the higher calorific value. Your natural gas supplier will automatically convert using the correct calorific value in kWh/MWh.

• Vacancy:
  Extended vacancy periods (5% < vacancy < 30%, excluding holiday periods) must be reported and will be taken into account in the energy performance certificate. If the vacancy rate exceeds 30%, an energy consumption certificate cannot be issued; instead, an energy demand certificate must be issued.

• Thermal insulation regulations:
  The Thermal Insulation Ordinance (WärmeschutzV77), first introduced on November 1, 1977, mandates the implementation of thermal insulation in the construction of buildings. For buildings constructed before 1977 with fewer than five residential units and no subsequent energy-efficient renovations, only the energy performance certificate based on calculated energy demand is permitted. Energy-efficient modernization refers exclusively to renovations that impact the building's energy efficiency. Examples include the installation or replacement of insulation, roof insulation, and the replacement of windows with newer, more energy-efficient models.

• Monument protection:
  Buildings under historical monument protection are exempt from the energy performance certificate requirement.
