Legal basis for commissioning

The commissioning of heat and cold meters is provided for in accordance with the European harmonized standard DIN EN 1434-6 and regulated in the Technical Guideline K9 of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB TR K9).

Commissioning according to DIN EN 1434-6

According to the standard DIN EN 1434-6, commissioning is required to ensure that the measuring device accurately records the planned or expected consumption. The same applies to heat meters. This standard specifies commissioning as the final step before heat and cold meters are used. Therefore, proper commissioning is necessary, among other things, to guarantee measurement accuracy and ensure usable measurement data for commercial purposes. If TR K 9 is followed, it can be assumed that the legal requirements for calibration are met.

Technical guideline PTB TR K9

The Technical Guideline K9 (PTB TR K9, Measuring Instruments for Thermal Energy) regulates the practical implementation of DIN EN 1434-6. It was published by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) on January 12, 21012. Since then, it has been legally binding throughout Germany. The guideline describes:
